Selling & Goal Setting : Plus 2

ESPN is featuring Ohio State Football Training Camp with new Coach Urban Meyer this month. On the first day of camp, Coach Meyer asked his players to give the program Plus 2 effort. He explained that if the Coaches ask you to run 10 yards, then run 10 yards at full speed -plus 2 more yards. That extra effort, that Plus 2, would pay off for the team during the season and help the team achieve and exceed their goals.

It’s a simple concept that easily translates to sales. If you want to grow your business and increase your sales above today’s levels, try the Plus 2 Method.

  • If your typical goal is 10 cold calls a day, go for the Plus 2 goal of 12 calls.
  • If your goal is 5 face to face meetings with new prospects every week, then your new Plus 2 goal is 7 meetings per week.
